Maypearl is a small town in western Ellis County on FM 66, a former railroad stop that incorporated in 1910 and today anchors a school district of roughly 1,200 students spread across an elementary, middle and high school. If you already have a family dentist, a trip to Cleburne is usually prompted by a specific question: a tooth another dentist said must come out, an estimate for several crowns that felt large, or a missing tooth that needs a plan.
Cleburne Dental's only office is at 302 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033. We have no Maypearl location, no local number and no staff in Ellis County. If you decide to come, enter the full address in your maps app from your actual starting point.
Because the trip is deliberate, the visit should be too. The rest of this page is about preparation: deciding what the consultation is for, gathering what we need to answer it, and knowing what questions to ask so you leave with a decision instead of a follow-up.
Start with the question, not the appointment
A consultation that tries to cover everything usually answers nothing well. Pick the one thing you need resolved. Common ones:
- "Can this tooth be saved, or does it really need to come out?" Our guide on saving versus extracting a tooth lists what the answer depends on.
- "Does this old dental work actually need replacing?" Age alone is not a reason. Replacing old dental work explains what we look for in a worn crown or filling.
- "Is this treatment plan reasonable?" A second opinion compares diagnosis and reasoning, not just price.
- "What are my options for this missing tooth?" Start with implant or bridge and partial dentures.
- "I have not been to a dentist in years. Where do I begin?" See returning to the dentist after a long break.
Tell us the question when you book. It changes how much time is set aside and whether imaging is needed on the first visit.

Gather your records before you come
Under federal privacy law you have a right to copies of your dental records, and most offices can send them electronically within a few days. Ask your current dentist for:
- Recent X-rays, including any panoramic or 3D scan. Recent images often do not need to be repeated.
- The written treatment plan or estimate, itemized by tooth.
- Clinical notes on the teeth in question, including any periodontal (gum) charting.
- Your medication list and medical history, which you can bring yourself.
If the previous office is slow, do not postpone the visit; we can take what is needed here. But arriving with their images lets us compare directly, which is the whole point of a second look. Our new patient page lists the forms you can complete ahead of time.
How to read two different opinions
When our findings differ from another dentist's, there are usually three possible reasons, and it helps to know which one you are looking at:
| Type of difference | What it sounds like | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Different diagnosis | One sees decay or a crack; the other does not | Ask to see it on the X-ray or camera yourself |
| Different threshold | Both see the same wear; one treats now, one watches | Ask what happens if you wait, and how you would know |
| Different plan | Both agree the tooth is failing; one proposes a crown, the other an implant | Compare longevity, visits, cost and what each rules out later |
None of these means someone is wrong. But you deserve to know which kind of disagreement it is before you choose. The filling versus crown guide is a good example of a threshold question.

You do not have to move the whole family
A common worry is that seeing us for one problem means abandoning the family dentist. It does not. Many patients keep exams and cleanings and their children's dental visits with their long-time office and come to Cleburne for a specific procedure or opinion. Tell us who manages your regular care and we will send our findings back to them if you want. If you would rather have everything in one place, that is fine too; say so and we will plan accordingly.
Planning the visits that follow
If the consultation leads to treatment, ask for the sequence in writing: how many visits, what happens at each, and which need healing time between them. Our hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so if you work in Dallas or Fort Worth you may need to plan around that. For anything involving several teeth, the treatment planning guide explains how care is staged.
Between visits, call (817) 641-6261 during office hours for any problem; most can be sorted out by phone. After hours, see what to do when a dental problem happens after hours. For trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling spreading quickly, bleeding that will not stop or serious facial injury, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 rather than driving to Cleburne.
