Godley is one of the fastest-growing small cities in North Texas. The 2020 Census counted 1,450 residents; by 2025 the estimate had passed 5,000, and Godley ISD has been adding students every year. The city sits in northwestern Johnson County on State Highway 171, with FM 2331 and FM 917 running through it and FM 917 connecting east to the Chisholm Trail Parkway. Cleburne Dental is located at 302 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033. That is our only office; there is no Godley branch.
Growth like that means many people in Godley are new to the area and need a new dentist. Often they arrive with a half-finished treatment plan, X-rays somewhere in another office's system, and no clear idea of what still needs doing. This page is about that transition: moving your records, deciding what to finish, and following a longer plan, such as a dental implant, through from the first consultation to the final follow-up.
Moving your dental records when you move house
Dental records belong to you in the sense that you have a legal right to copies. Before your first visit, contact your previous office and ask them to send your most recent X-rays, treatment notes, gum measurements and any plan that was proposed. Most offices can send digital images directly to another dentist; ask us how we prefer to receive them.
Recent X-rays may mean we need fewer new ones, which saves both time and radiation. The dental X-rays guide explains how timing is decided. If you cannot get records, that is not a problem; a full exam simply starts from the beginning. Our new patient page lists what to bring either way.

Unfinished work: what to complete and what to re-check
A move interrupts a lot of dental plans. A crown that was recommended, a filling that was flagged as "watch," an extraction that was put off. A new dentist's job is not to redo those decisions from scratch but to confirm them with a fresh exam. Some recommendations will still stand, some may have become more urgent, and some may no longer apply.
Ask us to walk through the old plan item by item and explain what we see today. Our replacing old dental work guide covers how a dentist judges whether an old filling or crown is still sound, and the second opinion guide explains how to compare two plans without feeling caught between dentists. If it has been years since your last visit, the returning to the dentist guide describes what to expect.
Starting with an exam and cleaning is usually the right first step. If bleeding gums are part of the picture, the exam will include gum measurements, and the gum care hub explains what those numbers mean.
Implant treatment from consultation to follow-up
Many people who settle somewhere new decide it is finally time to replace a missing tooth. A dental implant is a good example of a plan that spans months, so it is worth understanding the whole sequence before the first step.

- Consultation and imaging. The dentist examines the space, the neighboring teeth and the bone, usually with X-rays and often a 3D scan. The implant candidacy guide explains what is being assessed.
- Preparation, if needed. If the bone is thin or the tooth was lost long ago, bone grafting may come first, with its own healing period.
- Placing the implant. A short surgical visit under local anesthesia. Comfort comes from clear explanation, a signal to pause, and taking the visit at a steady pace.
- Healing. The implant bonds with the bone over several months. There is usually at least one check during this time.
- The final tooth. Impressions or a scan, then the crown is fitted. The implant treatment timeline guide explains why the visible result and the biological healing follow different clocks.
Ask which of these visits are long and which are brief checks, so you can plan work and family time around them. Ask what to do if a temporary tooth comes loose between visits. And ask how the implant will be cleaned and checked long term; the implant care guide covers that. If an implant is not the right fit, the implant versus bridge guide compares the alternative.
Practical details for the trip
Our hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Use the full address, 302 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033, in your maps app rather than searching by name; the contact page has parking and entrance details. When you book, say whether you want a consultation, a specific problem looked at, or a full exam, since each needs a different length of appointment.
If something happens before your visit
Call (817) 641-6261 during office hours for a toothache, a broken tooth or a lost crown, and we will tell you whether it can wait. The emergency dentistry pages explain what to do first for each problem. If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling that is spreading quickly or reaching the eye, bleeding that will not stop, or a serious injury, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 rather than traveling to a dental office.
